Jon Gresham was born in England, grew up in Australia and has lived in Singapore and Thailand for the last 20 years.
Jon's debut novel, The Chronicles of Gus, is long listed for the 2023 Epigram Books Fiction Prize and forthcoming in 2023.
His debut collection of short stories, We Rose Up Slowly, was published by Math Paper Press in 2015 with a second edition published in 2017.
His story, The Visit, was shortlisted in the 2020 Short Fiction/University of Essex Prize.
Jon helps run the Asia Creative Writing Programme at Nanyang Technological University.
He is also the joint editor - with Elizabeth Tan - of In This Desert, There Were Seeds, an anthology of Singapore and West Australian short stories published by Margaret River Press and Ethos Books in November 2019.
He is a Co-founder of the Singaporean literary community, Sing Lit Station. He created the Book A Writer programme and leads the Writing the City Creative Writing Workshops at Toa Payoh Library or on line each month.
His writing has appeared in various anthologies and literary journals including Best New Singaporean Short Stories, Esquire Singapore, In Transit: An Anthology from Singapore on Airports and air Travel, From The Belly Of The Cat, Eastern Heathens, the mono-titular anthology Coast, Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, Ceriph and the flash fiction collections Twenty Four Flavours: Sushi, Century Egg, Chicken Rice & Dolphin Meat.
